Rebecca Rogerson is a qualified English teacher with an extensive practical knowledge of literacy intervention and English subject teaching. Rebecca graduated from the University of Winchester, Hampshire with a 2:1 (hons) in English Studies and started tutoring private clients on a 1 to 1 basis from the ages of 5-18. She then graduated from the University of Portsmouth, Hampshire with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in English at a Secondary level. During her first teaching job it quickly became apparent that literacy and Special Educational Needs were her passion, leading to her becoming the lead teacher for SEND classes in two different schools alongside GCSE English Teaching. Throughout her career Rebecca has been fortunate enough to work in a number of Hampshire Primary Schools delivering intervention to pupils of a range of different abilities including SEND and the more able and talented.
In 2014 Rebecca completed training with University College London to become a Reading Recovery Teacher, at the time the only Secondary school teacher in the country to do so. Rebecca has also attended numerous external and continuing professional development training courses on:Jolly Phonics, SIDNEY, Toe by Toe, Nessy and Dragon Dictate. Alongside her practical teaching experience of SEND, Rebecca has attended additional training in: Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Behaviour, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, Self Esteem in teenagers and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
As part of her continued dedication to provide students with the best available teaching, Rebecca is currently studying for a Masters in Dyslexia, Language and Literacies in Development from the University of Birmingham.
